Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient method of enhancing the body's self healing energy by inserting fine needles at specific points along energy pathways(meridians) on the skin. Modern scientific approaches prove that needles inserted at acupuncture points balance the body’s chemistry and neurotransmitters. Acupuncture is a component of traditional Chinese medicine that originated in China over 5,000 years ago. It is based on the understanding that living beings have a vital energy, called "chi", that circulates through energy lines known as meridians . Each meridian is associated with an organ system. An imbalance in the flow of qi throughout a meridian can compromise a person’s health causing pain or dis-ease. Needling carefully chosen acupuncture points can improve the body’s self healing mechanism. Acupuncture is performed using sterile, disposable needles that are extremely fine. They do not cut the skin like hypodermic needles and therefore cause minimal to no discomfort.
